About us

Food Lifeline annually rescues more than 40 million pounds of surplus food from farmers, manufacturers, grocery stores, restaurants, and retailers . Each year, more than 13,000 volunteers sort and pack this food so we can deliver it to nearly 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs across Western Washington.

Food Lifeline creates 97,000 meals for hungry people every day with food that would otherwise go to waste!

Any ideas or recommendations for either in the neighborhood? I know we had some kind of community cleanup for youth. But don't know where to find the info.

They do fantast https://www.facebook.com/22872837832 ic work and have been a great partner of Food Lifeline (we also are in need of continual volunteer support to help us help feed our most vulnerable neighbors throughout western Washington). Does anyone have ideas for community service for a 13 year old in 7th grade? My daughter Sandra needs 3.5 GPA and 15 hours of community service to qualify for Honors Society at Skyview Junior High. She's got a 4.0 GPA so just needs to complete the service hours and get the form turned in by May 1st. Who knew her grades would be so good this year? She's doing fantastic! Peggie

Food Lifeline in Shoreline has community service nights on Wednesday evenings, and opportunities to volunteer on Saturdays. The work is packing food to be distributed to area feeding programs. You can learn more by visiting their website: www.foodlifeline.org
