  Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, but does anyone know if there is a NVC branch that focuses on couples theraphy, aND whether there are any therapists that work with NVC in Norway/Sweden/Denmark? Just found out someone I know is on the verge of divorce, and I really want to help them in this difficult time. Any guidance is much appreciated!

  Hi Martine. Yes there are - see www.cnvc.org or www.nvcworld.com , but a word of warning: NVC will not usually turn around a relationship where one or both people are not getting their needs met, and are not likely to, or where contempt is present. More often, NVC helps one or both partners get clear that they would be happier apart, and helps them to do that with some grace and dignity. If they are VERY determined to stay together and willing to do a large amount of work, I would sugest they look at www.Gottman.com and see if they can find a Gottman trained couples therapist. There are some similarities with NVC but it is more focused on helping couples stay together, and more equipped to support a turnaround if things got really bad. At the same time, we have great trainers in Sweden and Denmakr (Kirsten Kristenson, Liv Larrson, Towe Widstrand) and sometimes NVC can achieve miraculous breakthroughs, even on Skype.
