About us

Dana McDonald, RD, LD
Dana is a registered and licensed dietitian (RD, LD) in Houston, Texas with more than 10 years of professional experience. In addition to licensure as a RD, Dana sought out certification in nutrition support – a sophisticated and specialized practice – and was awarded licensure as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) from 2010 – 2015.

Education
Dana has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas (2006). Dana completed her dietetic internship at the University of Houston Dietetic Internship Program within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) — the largest medical center in the world (2007).

Awards
Undergraduate awards include a full collegiate soccer scholarship to McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana (2000) as well as Nutrition Student of the Year from the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston (2006).

Professional Experience
Dana’s work experience includes Ben Taub General Hospital (BTGH), Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), The Davis Clinic, and Children’s Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) in Houston, Texas. In addition, Dana has served as an officer of multiple professional organizations, including the Houston Pediatric Nutrition Group (HPNG) and the Houston Area Dietetic Association (HADA).

Currently, Dana offers individual and group nutrition consultations to clients through traditional face-to-face and telehealth consultations. For fun, Dana provides reliable nutrition and fitness education and inspiration through her social media accounts to an online audience that currently exceeds 2 million people.

Athletic Experience
Dana participated in competitive soccer throughout her childhood and was ultimately awarded a full soccer scholarship for her efforts to McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana (2000). Personal
Last, but not least, Dana is a proud mother, vegan, and animal lover who regularly participates in multiple fitness activities including soccer, strength training, running, and snowboarding.
