  You are correct about moving to the east rather than the west. St. Joe Penninsula is also a good choice. Eagle Harbor is your put in point at the park and if you have a chart you can spot Blacks Island surrounded by great fishing and scalloping holes (the latter season July 4 to Sept. 10) MapTech.com provided us with SAT shots and lat/long numbers that eneabled us to get our 10 gallon limits of scallops (for 2) in one stop.
