  If you travel by tram or bus there is no need for a special pass, but traveling by train you need to top your ov card with a bike/dog ticket of 3 euros.   Statenlaan - 5 years ago they planned to take out all the teeth of my cat. They that it's NO way around because of a tumor. We could not believe that is right to do this. We ask them to put it on paper with an cost estimate. We went to another clinic and they cut out the tumor. They could not believe what the Vet in the statenlaan put on paper.   Our doctor, Dr. Goor@http://www.dierenkliniekdeeland.nl/de-praktijk/dierenartsen, in the Zeeheldenkwartier, is an excellent small animal doctor, as are the other two vets that practice with him. Dr Jelke Jan Smit at http://www.dierendokterdenhaag.nl/ on Javastraat is also an excellent doctor. We've gone to him for more advanced micro surgery and he and his staff all seem quite adapt to international clientele, as does our normal vet.

When we were living in Amsterdam we had a very patient and kind vet, who didn't rush the consults and was specialized in cats. I am looking for someone with this profile. Searching on Google I could only find clinics where they take care of both dogs and cats, which I prefer to avoid. With dogs present a visit to the vet can be quite stressful for a cat. Any suggestions?

  Oh, I don't like the one on the Thorbeckelaan at all. I left there because the vet was so rude and not gentle at all with my cats. I always go to the Dierendokter in the Javastraat. Wonderful vet and assistants. It's a 20 minute drive for me, but it's worth it. I think he has quite a few expat clients, so he probably speaks good English too. http://www.dierendokterdenhaag.nl/
