I see a lot of folks come on here to complain about local business so I thought I'd add my 2 cents worth...I've been having some drivability issues with my 97 Silverado for a little over a year...Tried clearing up the problem myself, but seeing as how I'm old and technology has moved on, I had only limited success. Next, my oldest son who is a machinist and hotrodder jumped in to help...he was stumped so I broke down and took it in to a local garage three days and $400 dollars later, they had it running but it still had acceleration and shifting problems at higher rpms. I limped along with it until it finally crapped out while hauling a deer in for processing. I towed it in to another shop in the area and again they got it running, though their solution made no sense to me. three months ago. someone mentioned Avery's in Lapeer. They took it in, agreed to provide a loaner car while they sorted it all out. As it turned, I had several inter related problems, at least one induced by the first garage I took it to. They did the work after consulting with me about cost...I've been driving it for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't run this well in a couple of years. Avery's Automotive in Lapeer, in my opinion is a top notch organization...They will be my go to choice going forward. I'D RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IN SEARCH OF A FAIR, RELIABLE MECHANIC. I've been very satisfied...
