  Looking for a decent hairdresser that's not too expensive. I know it's probably nigh impossible to find one, but for the past few years, I've had my sister cut my hair (she's a licensed cosmetologist). The problem is, she lives in Indiana, and I'm now in Edmonton. Just wondering if there are any lady Edmontonians who know of a good hair dresser that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for a haircut. EDIT: Keep in mind I'm in the Duggan area, and I don't have a vehicle. (Haven't been able to afford one since my last car got totaled last summer.) I'm also a woman, though I do appreciate info about men, since the hubby's looking to get his hair cut soon, too.

  Try the [Aveda Academy](http://www.avedainstitute.ca/locations/edmonton) on Whyte Ave. Book with one of the students or advanced grads for the cheapest price. Don't worry, the students are supervised and they have a lot of training before doing any cuts or colours, and they go over what you want before doing anything.

  Ashley at Aveda Academy on Whyte 1 (780) 433-7115 is amazing with thin straight hair that doesn't hold a curl to safe my life.
