Just talked to my property insurance agent and was told that Citizen's really is the only choice for me given the location of the house (close to the water) and its age (1951). I was told that on my windstorm and 5(?) point inspection that my house's rafters had toe-in nails. She said that if I had clips installed to adhere rafter to walls throughout the house, I could see a possible decrease of $3,500 a year in my $5,700 premium. Is it worth getting that work done? Is it physically possible to do that kind of retrofit? And does anyone know somebody that does that sort of work? Thanks for any information.
