Charleston Chimney Sweep's Ashley Webster,
a technical flueologist trained by Master Herb Fulmer of the South Carolina Chimney Sweep Guild.
In Ash's Words:
Some of us runts had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals in harnessing Draft and Flow techniques on a variety of applications utilizing the latest technology and experiments with pressure planes,
The SC Guild ( 2001 - 2004) along with Herb Fulmer would create workshops on the job and at Guild meetings to teach Chimney Physics, wind loading scenario's, unstable pressure planes just to name a few. Herb taught us chimney repair, all stages from minor firebox applications to Major Relines and rebuilds to re-tuck pointing entire interior chase systems .
We learned on the job with Herb how to use mortar blending techniques along with brick architecture and aesthetic design to create beautiful fireplaces.
Above all, he taught us to have Honor in what we do, Integrity, for a man stands on his word. And last but not least, Compassion for the people we serve.
Ash was Educated by the NFPA 211, The CSIA, and the SC Chimney Sweep Guild - 2002 - 2004,
Lowcountry Historic Masons - (2007 - Present) and Masonry Techniques from Korea - (2009 - Present).

Cleaning Charleston's Chimneys
Sweeping (cleaning) Chimneys in Charleston SC is very different than most of the country. It takes a special knowledge of the material and the area that can only come from years of experience sweeping and repairing chimneys in the Charleston market. Clarks pest control did a temporary fix but they recommended getting it caped for a more permanent solution.Ashley T. replied:Ash with Charleston Chimney Sweep checked out our chimney for free and said to call him for annual check ups because we'll most likely need it "serviced" within the next few years.
