Charleston Chimney Sweep's Ashley Webster, a technical flueologist trained by Master Herb Fulmer of the South Carolina Chimney Sweep Guild.
In Ash's Words: Some of us runts had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals in harnessing Draft and Flow techniques on a variety of applications utilizing the latest technology and experiments with pressure planes,
The SC Guild ( 2001 - 2004) along with Herb Fulmer would create workshops on the job and at Guild meetings to teach Chimney Physics, wind loading scenario's, unstable pressure planes just to name a few. Herb taught us chimney repair, all stages from minor firebox applications to Major Relines and rebuilds to re-tuck pointing entire interior chase systems . We learned on the job with Herb how to use mortar blending techniques along with brick architecture and aesthetic design to create beautiful fireplaces.
Above all, he taught us to have Honor in what we do, Integrity, for a man stands on his word. And last but not least, Compassion for the people we serve.
Ash was Educated by the NFPA 211, The CSIA, and the SC Chimney Sweep Guild - 2002 - 2004, Lowcountry Historic Masons - (2007 - Present) and Masonry Techniques from Korea - (2009 - Present). Charleston Chimney Sweeps strives to provide the highest level of service and integrity in our craft with great respects to the Master Chimney Sweeps before us, and above all, provide our customers with satisfaction, value and peace of mind..
Cleaning Charleston's Chimneys Sweeping (cleaning) Chimneys in Charleston SC is very different than most of the country. It takes a special knowledge of the material and the area that can only come from years of experience sweeping and repairing chimneys in the Charleston market. Do you think a chimney from 1700 or 1800's is the same as one built today? Charleston's architecture and history is unique in the United States.
And then there is the Charleston weather. Being on the coast, there are issues that arise from the salt, oxidation,... show more
wind-shear, and draft/flow issues. There are conditions specific to the LowCountry and require someone that has years in the Charleston area cleaning chimneys.
Charleston Chimney Sweeps has been successfully sweeping (cleaning) chimneys in this market for over 16 years thanks in part to our loyal customers. Anybody can clean a chimney, but knowing what to look for and how to repair a chimney with the codes and historical regulations in Charleston is what Charleston Chimney Sweeps excels at.
Does anyone have recommendations for a chimney person? I need to have my chimney caped with a metal cap to prevent bats from getting in. Clarks pest control did a temporary fix but they recommended getting it caped for a more permanent solution.

Ash with Charleston Chimney Sweep checked out our chimney for free and said to call him for annual check ups because we'll most likely need it "serviced" within the next few years. Other people recommended him to us because they were pleased with him, as well. He's a busy guy so stay persistent! http://www.charlestonchimneysweeps.com/
Seeking recommendation for a chimney sweep / fireplace inspecror for an old coal burning fireplace. These 70 degree days are getting to be a tad bit nipply.

843-200-5964 Ash with Charleston Chimney Sweep. He is hard to get a hold of but he was fantastic and after telling us we were good to go for at least a few years, he didn't charge for the 10 minute visit either. Stay on top of him to get him to come out. http://www.charlestonchimneysweeps.com
