  Hi Kerry, I used to work not far from there. I think it might have been called Beresford's shoes/dresses or similar. I think you're thinking of the store formerly on the corner of Russell and Ruthven Streets near the ANZ Bank? I don't think they are still open but this store http://suna.com.au/ Suna at 459 Ruthven St could be what you are looking for.
