  I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good trainer that doesn't use treats. I have a 18 month old german shepherd/great pyrenese mix that we adopted at 10 months. She is the best dog I could of ask for but would like to fix some things. She barks at dogs when walking and along the fence when a dog (not people) walk past as we are the corner lot. We went to pet smart when we first got her for training, but I don't think it was meant for her. They use treats for everything. My dog eats because she is hungry. I have tried every treat and ended up taking chunks of stewing beef to classes. Even that wasn't enough to get her attention. Any advice

  Obedience lessons do not fix behaviour. You cant fix barking by teaching a perfect down but by teaching a dog to relax and not get excited. Sportdogtrainingcenter.com has a Friday night class for working dogs. Contact them and ask. Problem with food is it only works till the dog is over threashold. So - it works until you need it to work.
