I was looking for suggestions of the best places to go/ to see/ to do with them while they are here. I'd like to show off my new home, Hoover!   DeSoto Caverns in Childersburg isn't far from Hoover and it's great. Also, I second Aldridge Gardens which is right in Hoover and the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, Vulcan, The University of Alabama is just 45 minutes away and they have tours of the campus.
