In the USA we have a lot of "hole in the wall" restaurants that are very good but are small and don't advertise so it's more about word of mouth. I'll be spending 10 days across Amsterdam, Leiden, The Hague, Utrecht, and Groningen if you guys know of some affordable places that think I should check out. Breweries would be cool too.   we like this very much, not so much in the center, but good food for good price. The spare ribs is their speciality, but I was enough brave to try the snitzels, and I recommend the eigenwijs-snitzel :) book table, because they are always full http://eigenwijsleiden.nl/menukaart/
