  Last night my husband Chris took our rescue dog Rusty for a walk on Hastings Ave. around 6:30pm. Halfway up the street, an off-leash big black dog came up behind them and attacked Rusty. He took Rusty's back leg in his mouth and wouldn't let him go until Chris kicked him away. The owner was nowhere to be seen as the dog ran away. Rusty has 5 small lightly bloody bite wounds and is limping terribly. We need to take him somewhere to get checked out this morning - any suggestions? Thank you. PS If anyone knows an aggressive black dog on Hastings who is often off-leash, please let me know. Remember, there was no confrontation - dog was off-least and chased Rusty from behind and then attacked, so clearly it is an aggressive dog with an irresponsible owner.

  Poor Rusty! Not a lot of clinics open Sunday but these guys in the Beach are: http://www.vetstoronto.com/ and we go to Blue Cross on Danforth who do have limited Sunday hours.

  The one thing to remember is that there is a difference between a Vets Clinic and a Vets Hospital. A vets clinic is like you going to your G.P.Going to a vets hospital is similar if not the same as you going to see a specialist at a hospital. So my advice is that you need to decide on the type of care you think you would prefer and what type of budget you have per year to put forth towards your pet. www.vetstoronto.com I have been using these guys since the 80's and they are wonderful,caring people. One of my cats passed away on Christmas Eve a few years back. My Vet left his Family and new born no questions asked and came right away that night.
