  Recommendations please! We need service on our hot water heater, it's only 5 years old and thinking it's the thermocouple - called Nichols Heating & Cooling and they said $99 to come out, I'd have to go get the part myself, and then they want like $200 to install it for only an hour of labor! Anyone have a recommendation? I know it's only a matter of time before it konks out on us again - konked out Monday, we re-lit it, then went out again yesterday....yikes! TIA!

  Look for manual and it should have a trouble shooting section. All big company's charge 95 to a 100 just to come out. Guarntee you are going to spend at least 300.00 no matter what they say on the phone. Even if they dont fix it, its going to cost you a 100.
