  hi group i need urgent advice please re letting agents legal obligations- i have a very vulnerable friend who has signed a contract with them taking a holding deposit of £440 yesterday - however he is now saying my friend cannot have property as they need proof from council that he will get housing benefit., within next two days ( he cannot get written proof at moment as they will not give him appointment today). This particular letting agent has no charges listed on his website or membership of redress scheme or deposit details. The director of the company is in the usa and the negotiator is saying he will not refund money paid and my friend will lose all his monies. I have just had a very confrontational conversation with the letting agent and written to them stating that their website since may 2015 is illegal as it does not show the charges and conditions. How can i help my friend to get a solution urgently. Thanks
