  Hey there, Museums don't really value unless you're leaving them the art in a will or something they really don't have the resources or expertise to assign value. You need to contact an auction house, in DC I recommend http://www.weschlers.com/ http://www.leightongalleries.com/ from a Google search seems like a comparable place. If they have any customer service skills they will help steer you where you need to be. Good luck (dying to know who the artist is...? )
