  Martin Faye hit the nail on the head really. Don't cover them with washing as they have a thermal cut out or thermal reset. A lot of people think they are not working if they don't work the minute they are turned on . They use the economy 7 or cheap rate electricity which automatically comes on over night via a separate meter and separate consumer unit. The thermostats are a ltitle troublesome but overall pretty robust and better than convector heaters. . Leave it on overnight if you still have problems then contact Dave Moody (D.R.
