I'm looking to see if there's anyone in Northern California, with chessie expertise of course ;) who would be able to watch my 1.5 year old intact male chessie while my family and I are on vacation.   We only plan to have one litter of pups the next time. We think they would be born the end of November but sometimes it's a little longer. We have several on our waiting list already but some might change their mind because of timing. Because of vaccines & other expenses, we plan to raise our price of males to $300, instead of $250. So all pups would be $300. But if you are already on our waiting list or are on our waiting list by August 1, you will still get the males for $250. I feel like a store advertising a special :) but we wanted to give you a heads up. If you want on the list or want to see if you are on the list, let me know. Also at some point we might want to get another male puppy that's not related to our females. It will be a while & it's only so when Ryder gets older, we have another male. Also, I want a puppy! :) If you know of anyone that raises yellow labs & you feel they would be a good fit for us, please let us know. Of course we know our labs are the best, but... :) Thanks again for posting all the pictures & stories, we really enjoy them!!

  Until I was distracted by your pups, my original plan last year was to get a 2013 spring puppy from the breeders of our old dog Buddy's father. Buddy was very willing to please which made training extremely easy. In his youth, he was a fantastic bird dog; upland and waterfowl. Check out dustinretrievers.com. They are a little spendy. They may be more "blocky" than Shannon wants.

  I lived in CA when I got Buddy from a local breeder. He had 2 good years of hunting there before moving to AK. He then traveled to SD every year and several times back to CA hunting with Earl. He has done a couple of goose hunts and ptarmigan hunts here in AK. Dustin Retrievers are in MT and CA.
