  I know this is not strictly Rutherford County but I grew up enjoying Town House fried pies. Apple, peach, cherry and even chocolate. Made in Asheville. Every store used to sell them but I haven't seen any in a long while. Does anyone know a local store that still has them?

  I love Towne House fried pies. They are really hard to find. Gilkey Service Center did sell them, but the last few times I stopped to get one I was told the lady that delivered them had not been coming by. Many years ago I gained nine pounds in one month when I was pregnant with my son, and I am pretty sure it was due to eating Towne House pies. My brother-in-law worked for Cleveland Sandwich Company delivering to stores. He would bring home a box of pies he got at a discount, and I would do my part in helping to dispose of them. lol
