Need some input. Last night shortly after we went to bed, we started to smell this terrible smell in our bedroom. Mike looked around and couldn't find it so he went to sleep. It was so bad, I couldn't sleep so finally, about midnight, I flipped on the light, woke up Mike and said we are going to find this. Well, we did and thank God we did. One of the bedroom outlets was shorting out and the wall was hot and the outlet was red hot on the inside. We threw off the breaker and Mike replaced the outlet. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep after that. Now here are my questions:
1. I have a manufactured home from the 70s. One of my neighbors said I should replace all the outlets in the house as they are "outdated". Is this true?
2. If this is true, does anyone know anyone that can do this for us at a reasonable price?
3. Do I also have to do all the switches, etc as well?
Looking for answers and help on this.
Thanks.
