About us
My name is Deidre and I am a wife, mother, dog-lover, and photographer and one of my favourite things to do is to make people laugh! I have a BA from a University located in Toronto, Ontario where I lived with my husband for a while. As much fun as I had enjoying Toronto and seeing the sights, I was truly happy to come home to Newfoundland, and to be together again with our family and friends and the relaxed, Newfie lifestyle! I'm a lover of a good cup of tea, a fun conversation and a downpour of rain! I love rainy, foggy days (even though they aren't great for my hair!) and I just try to enjoy every moment of life that I am blessed with. Taking photos gives me opportunity to capture those moments for others. Whether it's a brand new baby, a young child, a couple, a growing family, or a furry friend, each moment of every life is a special one.
The name "Good Deeds Photography" comes from a nickname I was given several years ago: Deeds. Obviously "good deeds" has another meaning as well - being that people often try to do good deeds for others. So, because I believe expressing kindness towards others is important, I have taken the original meaning of the phrase and incorporated it into my business. Every two months I will chose a different local charity to focus on, and for every session during those two months, I will donate 10% of each session price to that charity. And just to switch it up a little, for any pet sessions, I will donate the 10% to the local SPCA.
