  Hi all, me and my colleagues at a pub in south London have been raising money for the refugee crisis. We've managed to net just over 1k. However I need now to donate it somewhere! But overwhelmed by the choice, and I know alot of you are on the ground in Calais (to which I hold the utmost respect.). What I ideally need is some bank details for a charity that many of you can recommend, so I know and my colleagues and the customers who have donated know, it's going to a good place. Any ideas?   These guys are a registered charity on the ground in Lesvos set up in the wake of this crisis. They're using funds for food, warm clothing and toiletries - they used to be a marine biology charity but converted to humanitarian aid. Really great people - there's a massive increase in people coming into Lesvos over the winter so please consider helping them out! You can transfer directly to their charity account.   My wife and I are planning to volunteer at a refugee center in Lesvos during the first weeks of December for about 10 days. We're driving with a load of clothing .... and our dog ... so we'll be taking a ferry. I see there are three overnight ferries during the day from Piraeus and one from Kavala. Does anyone have advice, information, recommendations regarding ferries, taking a dog, where to stay in Lesvos, etc?

We worked with Starfish Foundation (https://www.facebook.com/HelpForRefugeesInMolyvos) which was launched by Melinda McCrostie, owner of the Captain's Table restaurant down in Molyvos harbour -- it's also one of the restaurants Matt recommends, and quite rightly :-) But we worked with the Kempsons and it doesn't matter too much which group you link up with -- the great thing is that you're volunteering!

  Hi Laura Heeley-Archer Paula Pixie Moss is right, the Kempsons are well placed for distributing aid in the north of the island. As are Starfish who are working out of Molyvos (https://www.facebook.com/HelpForRefugeesInMolyvos). I am still working on finding out how best to get stuff distributed specifically to other parts (south) of the island, and I'm also still working on plans to get stuff to Samos and Leros.

  Are there any charities or companies collecting items for Greece, Hungary or other countries? I know Calais are looking for more specific items like men's clothes, cooking supplies etc but I've seen that other countries are in dire need of items too. I'm trying to start a local collection where I am but I need to find charities who are distributing to other countries or companies I can send parcels out with. Thanks x
