The fence panels must be vertical heavy duty lap, but open to advice re concrete or timber posts. The gate must be timber. I also need the job to be completed by the end of March. Please PM me to arrange a site visit to quote, which will be Saturday 4th March. I know it's a bad time because of Doris, and this job isn't down to her, but I need this done ASAP. Please be aware I will require references for previous work, and as I've done this kind of thing myself before, I am also aware of bullshit. Just need a reputable firm to do this for me! We need some advice as next door has a Rottweiler that stands up and pushes on them and breaks them which has not helped and with the wind they now come down. We are wondering if 3 or 4 foot panels or some kind of wire mesh type fence may be the answer to try and stop him putting his weight on the panels?

  Hi Helen, the most obvious solution is to install a 6' closeboard fence with the arris on your neighbour's side and the spans cut down to 2.4 m centres to reduce the flex between the posts. The dog will most likely then put his paws on the centre rail meaning a lot of the force will be sent vertically instead of horizontally. A closeboard fence is far stronger and longer lasting than a panel fence and looks nice too! Ideally I'd like to pop over and view the site.
