I drive a 2003 Ford Exploder, and I recently took it in to get the necessary Safety/Emissions test. I passed the Emissions, but lucky me, I failed the Safety in spectacular fashion. Looks like I need all 4 ball joints and rear struts replaced, in addition to getting a front end alignment, although I think the last part is optional. Total for all work is well over what I want to spend, considering Christmas is coming and I am waiting patiently for my transmission to go out, because Exploders are NOTORIOUS for that happening right around the 150,000 mile point. Does anyone have a mechanic they recommend who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for getting this completed? I prefer not to pay nearly $1000 in labor alone, and that doesn't even include the actual work on my car. Just curious, if anyone can point me in some kind of direction, I would appreciate it.
