Seeking recommendations for cheap yet effective menage surfaces, good supplier contact details etc, what works / doesn't work for you?

We have a silica sand and rubber. Brilliant. Use it all year round. Chapelstone in Colchester put our school in but the key thing is very good drainage is put in first. Ours have been down nearly 7 years and looks like new. http://chapelstone.co.uk/arena-construction/
Can anybody recommend person or company to help build 20x 40 school. We have just had the first quote which was exorbitant!

Do ring Chapelstone, visit the website www.chapelstone.co.uk who are a company with horses themselves so really know what they are doing. Just make sure you do your research before committing. I've seen a lot if really horrendous, flooded, uneven arenas and poor distraught owners who are now having to pay to get it fixed.
What a people's suggestions on the best companies/ways to build an arena, that isn't stupidly priced? Thanks in advance!

What I would say Sadie is to make sure you are comparing like for like. I've seen so many case studies where people have tried to save a bit of money (nothing wrong with getting a good deal) but a year later have an unrideable arena because the company didn't put in adequate drainage, or use the right aggregate, or a dozen other things. Contact www.chapelstone.co.uk and please remember, whoever you choose, really pin them down on the details of what they are quoting you for.
