  I found when I was fixing a small foster dog that it paid to call around. If you have the time and desire to wait at Golden State Humane, they are very inexpensive. I ended up calling around and got the best quote for my situation from http://www.vetcarepetclinic.com/ . I also got the microchip done at the Adopt & Shop at the Lakewood Mall and it is free to register the chip. It is $10 on Mondays, last time I checked. I think it is $25 other days. I chose to not go with the cheapest route, Golden State, because I found it didn't fit my situation.
