  Hi all.Im a 48 year old post menopausal woman with kyphoscoliosis.I was just diagnosed a little over a year ago..Yes I have alot of pain.I have a S with my worst curve in my thoracic area with a smaller lumbar curve.My worst pain comes from the severe rotation in my spine.I am experiencing alot of chest/rib pain.My ribs and chest on my left side are sticking out and kind of being made smaller and my right side is sinking in.My Mom was diagnosed with scoli at 2.She passed away at 60 due to her lungs and heart being crushed and she had spinal fusion surgery at 45 years old.Ive never had any surgery on my back.Is there anyone on here experiencing this?Have you found any pain relief and how?I am on adequate pain meds.through my PM doc.She recommended I try taping up my ribs for support and hopefully some pain relief.If anyone has any helpful ideas I would appreciate it.Also I live in western Maryland and am in need of a scoliosis specialist/surgeon to talk to.Do any of you know of such a doctor?Any help please.

  Hi stacx. You've come to the right place. The rib cages sticking out is very much part of scoliosis.
