Best day trips in 3 hour radius? My best friend and I are trying to take fun day trips as often as we can. The weekend before last we went to House on the Rock up in Wisconsin and got dinner in Madison afterwards. Before that we did the Volo antique mall which was almost just as good.
We most like weird stuff (like House on the Rock), old stuff (museums, architecture, antiques), craft fairs/unusual festivals, or shopping (thrift stores or nice little local areas like Geneva). Not so much into sports or hiking, but whatever you’ve got within a 3 hour radius of the Carol Stream/Wheaton area I’d love to hear it.
Any recommendations?

The Chicago Antiques+Art+Design Show is coming up next month. It's at the Merchandise Mart, and there are other publicly accessible showrooms there as well. It's a crazy place if you've never been there. http://chicagoantiquesartdesign.com/ Edit to add: There's also the One of a Kind show coming up in a couple weeks. I haven't been to that one, but it sounds interesting. http://oneofakindshowchicago.com/
