  Humane traps work to an extent but to "solve" the problem in the long term you'll likely have to rodent-proof your home. If they can't get in your home anymore you'll start to see results with the live traps. PEST911 apparently does rodent-proofing: http://www.pest911.com/mice-mouse-rat-rodent-proofing.php I've also talked to a couple others who have some experience with situations like yours too - they said that it's really important to drive them far away when releasing, and to leave them near a water source and with food (something simple like bird seed is ok). Not exactly what you asked but I hope it helps some.
