Does anyone have any thoughts on why more people don't start food businesses? I know lots of people do in Toronto but I would love to hear any thoughts on what kinds of things a municipal government can do to support these businesses.
I have a meeting with someone from the City of Barrie on Monday and they want to talk about what food entrepreneurs need to help them start and grow their food businesses.
Speaking as someone who has started being a food vendor at events with no experience and no background in it I can tell you it's challenging but not that expensive and you can actually make money doing it. But why don't more people do it???
I would love to hear anyone's ideas on what to tell the City.
Kind of put in a wish list of things that would really help to grow and support a local food industry.
I know packaging and sales are issues that my customers have. Any other thoughts????
