The owner Jason Harbaugh comes from a family of mechanics and shop owners. In approximately 1937 his grandfather, John Victor Harbaugh, started the first shop in a one car garage next to his house in Boxely, Indiana. The shop grew to 3 bays with 2 mechanics. Two of his three sons, James and David Harbaugh went onto to be mechanics. After John Victor's death in 1971 James ran the Harbaugh Garage for his mother and operated it for a couple of years. Then built a new modern shop that operated in Boxely until the late 80s. Jason Harbaugh worked there evenings from the time he was in the 8th grade. He continued to work there until graduating from Electronics School in 1985.
Jason holds a Associates Degree in Electronical Engineering Technology, ASE Master Technician as well as Master Machinist and numerous other ASE Certifications.
