URGENT fan question:
:) Stephanie
Hello, I wanted to submit a question for which I am hoping to find someone that have gone through the same problem.
"I am a dentist and today while I worked on a patient I punctured my finger with a needle I had already used on my patient. Now I am getting tested and so as the patient but I might be starting prophylactic tx for HIV. I won't know if the patient is + or - until Monday and that depends if the patient ever gets tested since is up to her...I have been breastfeeding my baby for almost 4 months now, but I am so frightened to breastfeed right now. I know the chances of infection through a needle are slim but I still don't want to take my chances, has anybody gone through something similar? And has anybody been on the prophylactic treatment and was able to breastfeed? I will be contacting my babies pediatrician on Monday but I just wanted to hear from someone that has gone through this or knows anything about this subject.
Thank you
Nya
