About us
The club is located in Strand House - Nursey Road - Thornton Heath - Surrey - CR7 8RE.
* The club was founded in 1967 by Bill Loates, Bill Rhys & Mike Pearce
* In 1971 Bob Warne became Head Coach
* In 1977 Jackie Lewis succeeded Bob and became the third Head Coach
* In 1993 Croydon Gymnastics Club changed its name to Croydon School of Gymnastics when it opened it's doors to girls.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and was awarded “Club of the Year” 2000, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011 & 2013 by The London Gymnastics Federation with staff coaches winning many accolades. The club has competitive gymnasts who have reached National and International level, and currently has a membership of over 400. We offer a comprehensive programme catering for all ages and abilities as follows: -
* Parent & Toddler's "Fun Gym" - Daytime & Saturday morning
* Structured Pre-School Classes for Ages (4-6) years - Saturday's
* Recreational Classes for age 6-14yrs - Wednesday,Thursday, Friday & Saturday
* GMPD Classes for Disabilities - Wednesday
* Teens & Adults Class (includes work for Equity Card and/or Stunt Register) - Thursday including work with: -
* Performers in TV, Films and Theatre
* Competitive Men's & Women's Artistic Gymnastics (All week)
* Competitive Floor & Vault + Display Squads - Monday & Wednesday
* Adults Competitive Squad - Tuesday and Thursday
