  Any advice on wood floors good for pets/kids? We have to replace all our brand new wood flooring due to manufacturer defect and I'm not sure what to get this time. The flooring installer said white oak is not good in Colorado because there is not enough humidity. We like darker wood. Thoughts? Recommendations? (We have a Richmond home if anyone has a specific one they love/hate) Thanks!

  Red oak. 3/4" hardwood, finish in place. We just had it installed in our house by Morris Flooring - great job and price - 720-260-1930. We have two big dogs and a cat, all with claws. They did our floors and gave us three coats of finish. You can stain it whatever color you want. Tell them Kristy Astry sent you. We installed a whole-house humidifier just so we'd have enough humidity in the winter to take care of our floors.
