Does anyone know a bakery that makes fastnachts on fat Tuesday? I love to go and get fastnachts every year and I'd like to continue the tradition now that I've moved to the city. I figue that there has to be at least one bakery that sells them in a city of 1+ million people.

You already got some good answers closer to University City, but just in case anyone in the Northeast is looking for them and stops by this thread, [Haegele's](http://www.haegelesbakery.com/) makes them every year.

Haegele's Bakery in Mayfair (Northeast) offers them, but they tend to be the more powdery/sugary non-traditional version. As mentioned before, Brauhaus and Wurthaus both offer them, and they are definitely more traditional (potato & lard based), like the kind you'd find in Lancaster County. I am sure Beiler's Bakery in Reading Terminal will have them as well.
