About us
Laundry Matters is a mighty little social enterprise created by the not-for-profit organization, Families Matter Co-op (FMC).
FMC supports families whose loved ones have a developmental disability. One of the bigger challenges for our families is finding meaningful employment for their sons and daughters. Laundry Matters was designed to address this need by creating a laundry service that employs people with developmental disabilities.
Laundry Matters is a community of hardworking individuals, job coaches, volunteers and customers that recognize the social value of providing someone with a developmental disability the opportunity to develop skills and be a productive member of society.
Our team is all about building stronger ties to the community. We have partnered with organizations like TCE, Bruyere Continuing Care, Y’s Owl Maclure and other business leaders to continually promote social responsibility.

Candace M. asked:Good morning ladies. I am looking for a local service company that does laundry. My Mom is a senior living in the West end of Ottawa. I would like to find a service that will pickup her laundry once per week, wash and fold. Is there anyone in this group that provides this service? Her location is near Greenbank and Hunt club area.Sue L. replied:Thanks Amanda! I do believe that Debbie Abfalter Seniors Solutions, Ana Lucia Cerrato, Qualicare, Caroline Inman, Home at Heart offers the service. Though I think they may do it in the persons home.
