About us
“Maybe because it’s entirely an artist’s eye, patience and skill that makes an image and not his tools.” Ken Rockwell I held on to a simple dream… For many it was to be a doctor, Veterinarian, or firefighter; However, I knew I wanted to capture memories at their best. This dream could have branched from my mother’s creative abilities, or maybe my father’s innovative spirit; either way my family always claimed I had my grandfather’s “eye” for photography.
My grandfather (Pop-Pop) Earl Lee was a well-known photographer in the Raleigh area who built his dreams, passion, and talent in over half a century. Pop- Pop taught me so much about photography until his last day on July 16 2012. Although he has passed, he inspires me to improve and be the best I can be each day.
In high school I had started selling my work when I was employed at a local coffee shop “Common Grounds” in Henderson, North Carolina. From there I had taught myself the basics; taking photos of plants, animals, and landscapes. After gaining my confidence with many sales and winning NC awards in school for my photography, I decided to grow into capturing people in their greatest moments.
I had learned to become myself and realizing how much I loved to make people smile. Being fresh out of high school there was not any photography schools close to home. So at 20 years old I had decided to get the hands-on experience by managing a Portrait studio. Unfortunately in April 2013, all Sears Portrait Studios went out of business.
They always say when you do what you love you never work a day in your life. Over the years I have captured milestones from Newborn to retirement, and Celebrations from engagement to overcoming cancer. I love seeing how much photography has expanded over the years, and I can’t wait to see where my passion takes me!
