Well, our truck is badly in need of repair. We had planned on taking the kids to see Anchorage for the first time out of our dividends, but that is likely out of the picture due to repair costs at local establishments. Oh well, I guess there's always next year.
MY question has 2 parts and needs some input from some locals.
#1: WHERE is a good place to get front-end work, alignment, and brakes done, that will not rip us off and might charge a decent price (for around here)?
#2: Considering the likely costs will be upwards of $1200-1500 (a conservative estimate), and considering its a 2006 Silverado with a FAIR trade-in value of $7000 (YES, I know I'll never get that for it, but maybe $4000 or so?), do you think I might be better off going after a used vehicle locally, trading the truck towards it, and paying it off with that equivalent from the dividends????
PLEASE ADVISE, FAIRBANKSANS! We have NO mechanical assistance for this, otherwise we'd cut a deal with someone. So these are our choices.....
