So. David, my hubby, has an idea we wanted to get out there. The idea is a sort of neighborhood assistance renovation group?. He owns a small construction/ renovation company, and he got the idea from Habitat for Humanity.
Form a group, that will provide a free service for someone in the neighborhood in need, that maybe can't afford to pay someone to repair something in/on their house, but maybe has money for materials. Could be elderly or family with low funds. Has to be something that could be done in a weekend, say one to two days long. Like a fence in disrepair, or painting, roof patch..etc. Maybe do a project every 3-4 months. He would head each project up, unless there was another contractor in the neighborhood that wanted to donate time as well. 'Applicants' could send us an email/letter describing their situation and then one project would be chosen every 3-4 months.
Maybe get a couple other people every time to volunteer so that the project would be done quickly?
What does everybody think? I don't really know how to maybe get it rollin.. maybe the newsletter? I could write something up? I thought if I put something up on here, maybe somebody would have some ideas. And we could get some feedback..
Thanks!
