So we've been here since January and still haven't got on a train. I wanna take the train somewhere with my 6 year old daughter. Where to go? Suggestions?

Showa kinen park is a short walk from Nishi Tachikawa station and it's a fantastic place for kids. It's a huge park with outdoor trampolines, swimming pool (I think the big pool opens in July), a Japanese garden with beautiful bonsai trees and loads more. It costs 400 yen for adults to enter the park - you buy a ticket at vending machines near the entrance. Don't worry about taking the trains. It's really simple once you get used to it and then Tokyo and beyond will be your oyster :) http://www.showakinenpark.go.jp/english/
