I'm in need of someone who might be willing to discuss some property insurance/potential insurance fraud legalities with me.
A vacation home I rented for my honeymoon burned while we were inside. Fire Marshal determined cause of fire was an AC unit in the home (we had reported electrical issues upon arrival). Insurance claim response states no negligence, indirectly nor directly, so the insured has no liability and they are not responsible for any damages/displacement costs.
Where it gets shady:
Insurance company handed claim off to insurance adjuster, who handed it off to underwriters with a different company.
The insurance adjuster's claim rejection letter was sent 'Via Email Only". I've never heard of a claim being sent only via email. Also, none of my calls were ever returned by anyone involved.
The address for his "management company" on the letterhead of the email does not match his business. His management company does not seem to exist either via Google or by the address given.
The adjuster's email address was via yahoo.com, not a legitimate 'business email address'.
If anyone has insight or would be willing to provide legal or insurance advice I'd be most appreciative. We are just trying to get displacement costs paid, not trying to sue anyone, so this is all so frustrating.
Thanks in advance!
