  Per Noranne Thompson: "Looking for help for my parents (senior citizens). They have run into issue after issue with their insurance company. They are in the home stretch of getting back into their home but still need help with carpet, painting, doors etc. I keep running into the same problem when trying to get them help. Problem is they live in Ventnor (Atlantic County) all the groups I have contacted are in the Ocean County or beyond and are unwilling or unable to help them. it's beginning to take a toll on them. They are paying a mortgage for a house they can't live in for the past 8 months plus hotel. We have tried Catholic Charities, Red Cross, Long Term Recovery and a few others. What I'm asking is if anyone one knows of any agencies or charities helping people in the Atlantic County area. It's been very discouraging and my parents are just ready to give up. They are physically and emotionally exhausted. Thanks in advance"

  Hi, My name is Cathi. I just happened on your note here. I am from NJ Hope and Healing in Atlantic county, and we have been contacting people who were impacted by the hurricane. We go door to door in Ventnor, Margate, Longport and provide counseling and assistance to them. If you could either call me or have your parents call, I can send counselors out to meet with your parents and see what assistance can be provided. We refer to case management for people with unmet needs from the hurricane. Our phone number is (609)652-3800. Hope this helps also.
