Residents of union county...Some of you may already know of the Boltz family and their business K-boltz kennels, which is located outside of Elgin and has been breeding Presa Canarios for 12 years. Presa Canarios are amazing dogs and the Boltz family takes pride in their dogs being excellent family companions as well as carrying champion bloodlines. I urge those who are not familiar with this breed to do some research and you will see that one of the main things Presa's are known for are being docile family dogs, although they do make great guard dogs simply because of their looks. The Boltz family and their seven dogs have been a part of our community for over ten years and almost everyone in the area has had an amazing experience with these amazing animals and in the 12 years that they have had their dogs, there has not been one bad incident or complaint. All of their dogs are very well taken care of and are kept in very nice indoor/outdoor kennels at night and during the day, while the kennels are being cleaned, they are getting exercise in one of their many large fenced dog play areas. They sell their dogs all over the world and there are many that are owned and loved by residents in union county. Unfortunately there are always those who have a negative perspective on any "bully breed" dogs, and because of the way the presa canario looks these people are assuming that these dogs are dangerous. This one particular family is coming to this conclusion without ever having any interaction with a presa canario dog in general and do not have the pleasure of knowing how loving and docile these big pups actually are. Because this family has strong negative feelings against this breed and the Boltz family, they are petitioning the county to attempt to eliminate K-Boltz Kennels and their dogs. The dogs at K-Boltz kennels are well known in our community and have been to many local sporting events, rodeos, community events and are welcome at local businesses and it would be a devastating loss to the Boltz family and the community if they lost their life's work and family members. There will be a hearing held in La Grande, Or at the Tax assessors office (behind the court house on fourth street) on Monday at 7pm. The Boltz family is prepared to do anything they can to show those who have not got the chance to get to know these dogs and this breed, that these animals are loving well behaved family members and not dangerous dogs. Brandon, Kaeleen and their daughter are asking that anyone who will support them in keeping their dogs to please come to the meeting at 7pm this monday (12-22-14) and show their support. Also, if anyone has had any experiences with any of these amazing dogs, or any presa in general, to please write a statement explaining their opinion and experience with these dogs. These signed statements can be dropped off with me or i will come pick them up. Thank you to anyone and everyone who is willing to show their support for the Boltz family!
This is my Presa :) Her name is Kalika and she has been an amazing dog.
