Hello neighbors! We're looking for recommendations for good independent contractors for siding (Hardieplank) a two-story house and sheetrocking the entire inside (1,500 sq feet with high, rather complicated ceilings). Many thanks!!

Hey Lady, I recently put out a call to a number of groups/listservs for contractors. Here's a compilation of what folks shared: 1) We love, love, love Baldwin Drywall. We've used them for many jobs and recommended them to many friends. All experiences have been great. 2) We used Agustin Sandoval. Great and trustworthy guy. His number is 206-510-4218 3) I had my kitchen remodeled a few months ago by Corvid (http://www.corvidseattle.com/). I was pretty pleased with the process and how things turned out...Their workshop was in Columbia/Hillman City, but I think they recently moved it to Georgetown. I believe most of the principals live in the neighborhood, though. 4) I do smaller remodels. Let me know what you're planning to do. David Vlasaty (206.852.7289) 5) Mikey Talevich, 206-941-3558 6) joachim damstrom! damstromrenovation@comcast.net (he actually came Very Highly Recommended from friends, but I can't find his review, at the moment...) 7) Mike Clay of C & M Clay (candmclay@hotmail.com). This guy did our kitchen remodel and he was amazing. My good friend who was our architect said he is her favorite contractor to deal with. He did a lovely job and was extremely pleasant to have in our house all the time. Just as a fun aside, he is the fix-it guy who repairs all the bashed up wheelchairs for seattle's quad rugby team. Heh. His son is a well known quad rugby star! Also my kids loved him and he was always up for explaining the process to them. Kitchen came out beautiful. His workmanship is top notch. 8) Brooks Powell, 888-811-6389, brooks@powell-homes.com 9) I can recommend a remodeling contractor to you. Name is Jackie McGuire. If you want to learn more about her you can call me at 206 725 6568, and I will fill you in and provide phone number and address. ~Bob Smith
Hi all ... I am just in the beginning stages of conceiving a new construction project ~ basically converting a two level single family home into two units on my urban farmstead in the Othello station neighborhood. I would like to use a local valley contractor ... does anyone have recommendations or interest in the project?

We used Jason at Corvid http://www.corvidseattle.com/#2595. He was awesome! We added stairs, bathroom, laundry room, two bedrooms and a den.
