  Hi CMs, It is close to a year since we arrived in Australia and we are now ready to take our first Australian holiday. We haven't been out of Canberra and are thinking of going to Sydney - do you have recommendations for places to stay that are family friendly and not too expensive? Also open to suggestions of other places that are within driving distance of Canberra. Thank you so much!

  Go down to Batemans Bay for a day trip or overnight....we've stayed at Murramarang Resort, it was really lovely (kangaroos, possums, children's play area, beach etc). http://www.murramarangresort.com.au/
