Main things for me: public transportation, big/huge gym...maybe a Muay Thai training centre close by, cafe's, a big supermarket for when I feel homesick and that I can move in with my little dog :).   I thnk you are looking for apartments that accept pets, right? That's not as easy to find as a vet. Try Jeff Lane at www.bangkokpropertiesrus.com - he helped me find a great apartment that has cats and dogs. In Sukhumvit near Nana.
