Parent/child Karate lessons
---
I'd like to send my daughter to Karate. Does anyone have an opinion on the best age to start her? Also, anyone know if there are any places that run classes that both her and I could attend together. TIA!

The best age depends on the child. I have seen kids start from age 3, while other a bit older. I personally think about age 5 - 6 is a good time to start. I have been doing Karate for over 25 years. My son is now 3 and my daughter 19 months old. My son is becoming interested in Karate, but I do not plan on sending him to classes until about age 4, but it really depends on his interest level. The same will go for my daughter when she is older. Depending on where you live, we have excellent kids classes available in several areas in and around Canberra. http://www.australiakarate.com/locations.html
