  {Early morning NOLA mom SOS} I thought I had recalled reading on your blog a while back a post regarding recommendations for a doctor/midwife to deliver. Being new to the area I really do not have many close friends to ask their advice ... so can you all please share some recommendations for the best OBs / midwives / birthing options in the New Orleans area?

  Woman to Woman Midwifery: http://www.womantowomanmidwifery.com/. I had a water birth at Touro two years ago and it was a wonderful experience. I remember during labor, when I was beyond exhausted, Cathy, one of the midwives, told me: "Look around at this big beautiful room, at the sun coming through the windows, at your loving husband... You are about to give birth to a little miracle. I just want you to remember this moment..." And I still do, every time I think about my little one's birth, I mentally return to that moment and my heart fills with happiness.

  Woman to woman midwifery moved from touro to ochsner in December if last year. I delivered at touro (with the midwives) in November and it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a mother lead birthing experience. They do have MD backup at ochsner, and a wonderful new birthing center attached to their office. I can't say enough good things about them
