  El Paso Times reports today that the BORTAC agent who shot and killed the escaped prisoner in NY is from El Paso. ChucoPedia reported previously that BORTAC is based in El Paso. But what IS this agency, which is part of the Border Patrol? Basically, it's an elite military counterterrorism and counternarcotics op that goes all over the world, doing things that have little or nothing to do with guarding the US geographic boundary. Wonder what they were doing in New York State on a prisoner manhunt? (Prisoner was neither a foreigner nor a terrorist nor a narco.) See:
